product Introduction

Nantong Zhihe Electric manufactures hot-dip galvanized transformer radiators for oil-immersed power transformers. Designed as a durable galvanized radiator for oil-immersed transformer applications, it provides reliable heat dissipation and long-term protection in demanding outdoor conditions. The zinc coating offers both barrier and sacrificial protection, making it a dependable corrosion-resistant transformer radiator against rust, moisture, salt spray, and industrial pollution. It is especially suitable as a transformer radiator for coastal environment projects and other high-humidity applications.
Compared with standard painted radiators, hot-dip galvanized transformer radiators provide stronger protection in corrosive environments. The zinc coating helps protect the steel surface even if minor surface damage occurs during transportation or outdoor operation, making it a reliable choice for transformers installed near coastal areas, in humid climates, or in industrial zones.

Our factory & Equipment
Auotomatic welding line & skilled manual welding

At Nantong Zhihe Electric, our seven automatic radiator welding lines support consistent production of transformers radiators in different sizes and configurations. Skilled technicians handle assembly, connection details and inspections that require careful manual work.
Our factory is also equipped with large shot-blasting equipment for surface preparation and leak-testing facilities for radiator inspection. Every transformers radiators undergoes an air-pressure leak test at 150 kPa before delivery. These facilities allow us to manage welding, surface preparation and quality checks within our production process.
Hot-Dip Galvanized vs. Painted Transformer Radiators
| Item | Hot-Dip Galvanized Radiator | Painted Radiator |
|---|---|---|
| Corrosion protection | Zinc coating provides barrier and sacrificial protection | Protection depends mainly on the paint system |
| Suitable environment | Coastal, humid and corrosive locations | Normal outdoor or indoor environments |
| Protection after minor scratches | Zinc can help protect small exposed steel areas | Damaged paint may expose the steel directly |
| Surface color | Natural galvanized finish | Customized RAL color available |
| Maintenance requirement | Generally lower in corrosive environments | Periodic coating inspection may be required |
| Customization | Manufactured according to drawings | Manufactured according to drawings |
Custom Manufacturing Based on Your Drawings
ZHIHE does not rely on one fixed radiator size. We manufacture each hot-dip galvanized transformer radiator according to the customer's approved drawings and transformer cooling requirements.
Customizable items include:
• Radiator panel height and width
• Number of radiator elements
• Element spacing
• Header pipe diameter
• Header length
• Inlet and outlet arrangement
• Flange dimensions and drilling pattern
• Radiator center distance
• Straight or gooseneck configuration
• Fixed or detachable installation
• Lifting and supporting details
• Drain and vent connections
• Hot-dip galvanizing requirements
• Packing and shipping arrangement
All dimensions, materials and connection details are confirmed through the approved drawing before production.
Manufacturing Process
Drawing and Technical Review
Our engineering team reviews the dimensions, connection arrangement, material requirements, test pressure, coating requirements and installation details before production.
Material Preparation and Forming
Steel sheets and pipes are cut and formed according to the approved drawings. Key dimensions are checked before welding to reduce assembly errors.
Automatic Radiator Welding
Radiator elements are produced on automatic welding lines to improve welding consistency and production efficiency.
Stable welding parameters help control seam quality across repeated panels, especially for volume orders.
Manual Assembly and Header Welding
Experienced welders complete radiator assembly, header installation, flange welding and other areas requiring manual control.
Welding details are inspected before the radiator moves to the testing stage.
100% Leak Testing
Every radiator undergoes an air-pressure leak test at 150 kPa for 20 minutes.
The radiator is pressurized and placed in the leak-test pool. Welded seams and connections are checked for bubbles. Any detected leakage point must be repaired and reinspected before the radiator can proceed.
Surface Preparation and Hot-Dip Galvanizing
After fabrication and leak testing, the radiator undergoes the specified surface-treatment and galvanizing process.
The design of venting, drainage openings, sealed spaces and welded details must be considered before galvanizing. These details are confirmed during the technical review to support coating coverage and reduce the risk of deformation or trapped process liquid.
Final Inspection and Packing
ZHIHE operates automatic transformer radiator welding lines supported by skilled manual welding and assembly teams.
This combination allows us to handle both repeat production and customized designs. Automatic welding supports consistent panel production, while manual operations are used for headers, flanges, supporting structures and non-standard details.
Our production scope includes:
• Conventional transformer radiators
• Hot-dip galvanized transformer radiators
• Gooseneck transformer radiators
• Detachable transformer radiators
• Radiator and header assemblies
• Customized transformer cooling assemblies
Production for a hot-dip galvanized transformer radiator starts from approximately 11 days. The confirmed schedule depends on drawing approval, quantity, galvanizing requirements and current production arrangements.
OEM & ODM Capabilities
Nantong Zhihe Electric manufactures transformer radiators to customer drawings and technical specifications. For OEM projects, we review dimensions, panel quantity, header configuration, connection positions and testing requirements before production.
For ODM projects, our team can work with you to refine the radiator configuration based on your transformer layout, installation conditions and performance requirements. We can discuss practical adjustments to connections, mounting details and surface treatment, then submit drawings for your approval before manufacturing.
From prototype discussions to batch production, we support drawing review, welding, leak testing and inspection. Send us your drawings or key parameters, and we will assess the manufacturing options and prepare a quotation.
Why Work with ZHIHE?
ZHIHE specializes in custom sheet-metal and structural components for transformers. Our production focuses on transformer oil tanks, transformer radiators and related mechanical assemblies rather than complete electrical equipment.
Customers work with us for:
