Recommended Tools For Cleaning Transformer Radiators

The selection of cleaning tools for transformer radiators should balance safety, cleaning efficiency, and equipment compatibility. Especially in high-humidity, dusty industrial environments, it is recommended to use insulated, moisture-proof tools suitable for oil circulation/air-cooling systems.

Based on maintenance scenarios and cleaning methods, the following are some recommended practical tools:

Basic Manual Cleaning Tools

Soft-bristled Insulated Brush: Used to remove surface dust from the radiator fins. The bristles should be made of nylon or pig bristles, and the handle should have an insulating coating to prevent static electricity or accidental contact with live parts.

Fin Comb (Strip Plastic Comb): Straightens deformed radiator fins, restoring ventilation gaps and improving heat dissipation efficiency. Suitable for aluminum or copper radiators.

Lin-free Cloth + Neutral Detergent: Used for wiping stubborn oil stains. Avoid using corrosive solvents to prevent damage to metal surfaces or insulating components.

Pneumatic and Water-based Tools

1001

Dry Compressed Air Gun (Pressure ≤ 0.6MPa): Recommended for daily blowing to keep air ducts unobstructed. High-pressure airflow should be blown from top to bottom along the airflow path to avoid reverse impact that could cause dust to accumulate in dead corners.

Low-pressure water flushing equipment (with insulated long gun): Suitable for large outdoor transformers, can be used with specialized cleaning agents for deep cleaning. Care should be taken to control water pressure to prevent water from seeping into junction boxes or motor interiors.

Live-line insulator cleaning machine: Such as a lightweight porcelain insulator cleaning brush, it can remove surface dirt without power interruption, suitable for high-altitude operations.

Professional electric and automation equipment

Ultrasonic cleaning machine (suitable for cleaning disassembled parts): Targets precision internal components of transformers (such as radiator pipes and oil line connectors), using high-frequency cavitation to remove microporous oil deposits, automatically drying after cleaning, and providing excellent rust prevention.

Box-type transformer radiator cleaning tool without disassembly: Based on patented technology (CN223043188U), it allows for cleaning of the outer side of the fan blades without disassembling the fan by adjusting the ring and conical part, improving maintenance efficiency.
