Transformer oil tank maintenance mainly includes key items such as leak inspection, cleaning, and bolt tightening, which are crucial for ensuring the safe and stable operation of the transformer.
Daily Inspection and Maintenance
Oil Leakage Inspection: Regularly check the oil tank, valves, flanges, welds, etc., for oil leaks or drips. If leaks are found, they must be addressed promptly to prevent reduced oil levels from causing insulation degradation or safety hazards.
Oil Level Inspection: Confirm the oil level is within the normal range using an oil level gauge, and assess for any abnormalities in conjunction with the ambient temperature. Too low an oil level may expose the windings, while too high an oil level can easily cause abnormal pressure.
Visual Inspection: Inspect the oil tank for deformation, corrosion, damage, etc., especially after impact or severe weather; inspections should be intensified after such events.
Regular Cleaning and Tightening
Cleaning: Use dry compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust and oil from the surface of the oil tank and the heat sink fins to prevent dust accumulation from affecting heat dissipation performance. For stubborn oil stains, use a heated trisodium phosphate solution or a 2%~5% sodium hydroxide solution for soaking and cleaning, followed by thorough rinsing with clean water.
Bolt Tightening:Inspect and tighten all bolts at the connection points of the oil tank to prevent loosening due to vibration, which could affect sealing or the reliability of electrical connections.
Enhanced Maintenance Under Special Operating Conditions
Overload or Short Circuit Inspection: After the transformer has experienced a large current surge, check the oil tank for deformation or weld cracking caused by a sudden increase in internal pressure.
Deep Cleaning During Overhaul: During core or cover lifting maintenance, the inside of the oil tank should be thoroughly cleaned to remove sludge and impurities. Alkali washing may be necessary.
